Attorney. Writer. Public Speaker.
Brittney Frey is a public interest attorney based in New York.
While serving as a prosecutor in Brooklyn, specializing in sexual offenses and crimes against children, she grappled with her own accountability process for sexual harm outside of the criminal legal system.
Brittney’s article, “Sex Crimes Prosecutor Finds Accountability for Sexual Harm Outside of the Criminal System” was published by the American Bar Association Journal: The Voice in January 2026. Since publication, the piece has been widely circulated in restorative justice newsletters, websites and social media, and has been shared within prosecutorial offices and academic institutions.
In April 2026, she was profiled by CUNY School of Law in an alumna feature, “Experience Is Everything: Brittney Frey ’22 Asks ‘What Do We Do with Serious Harm?’”
Brittney has been invited to speak on panels, in classrooms, and at conferences that are focused on criminal law reform, including a recent presentation at the 2026 National Association of Community and Restorative Justice Conference in New Orleans.
